Mahaba is a student studying English at the intermediate level at the Jesuit Refugee Service Higher Education Center in Amman, Jordan. Originally from Baghdad, Mahaba left Iraq soon after her 2015 graduation with a pharmacy degree. She is currently awaiting the completion of her resettlement process to Windsor, Ontario, Canada and hopes to receive an equivalency certificate and begin working as a pharmacist once arriving in Ontario.
