Dr. Mercy John is the national secretary of the Women Wing, Christian Council of Nigeria. In 2022, she received the National Youth Wing Christian Council of Nigeria Exemplary Christian Leadership Award, and in 2021 the Amana Newspaper of Abuja, Nigeria (Bauchi branch), listed her as the best principal of the year. Dr. John holds a master’s degree in education administration and planning from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, an honorary doctorate degree in mission and evangelism from Pathfinder's Academy in Jos, Nigeria, and a Ph.D. in Christian education.
