Michelle Boorstein is a religion correspondent for the Washington Post. She was awarded first place honors for overall excellence in religion reporting from the Religion Newswriters Association in 2011, 2013, and 2017. She has a B.A. in journalism and history from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and an M.A. in Near Eastern studies from New York University.
