Dr. Mohammad Rafi is a senior research fellow in the Research and Evaluation Division of BRAC and coordinates the Social Development Research Unit. BRAC aims to empower people and communities in situations of poverty, illiteracy, disease, and social injustice through economic and social programs. Rafi teaches as an adjunct faculty member at BRAC University and has been published in both national and international peer reviewed journals on various topics including research methodology, the social impact of BRAC, and group dynamics. He is the author of Counting the Hills: Assessing Development in Chittagong Hill Tracts (2001). He received his Ph.D. in Sociology from Emory University.
