Nader Hashemi is assistant professor of Middle East and Islamic Politics at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies, University of Denver, and an expert on Islam and politics. He is the author of Islam, Secularism and Liberal Democracy: Toward a Democratic Theory for Muslim Societies. Nader is also co-editor of The People Reloaded: The Green Movement and the Struggle for Democracy in Iran. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto.
