Nurul
Momen Bhuiyan is a social anthropologist and a Jatiyo Bishshobidaloy faculty member at Bangladesh National University.
His Ph.D. thesis dealt with processes of identity formation in Quomi madrasas.
His ethnographic fieldwork took place in the rural region of Sylhet, Bangladesh
between 2007 and 2008. Bhuiyan holds
degrees from the University of Tampere (BSS, 1997), University of Helsinki
(MSS, 2004), and Brunel University (Ph.D., 2011, under the auspices of the
Commonwealth Scholarship).
