Patrice Brodeur

Patrice Brodeur is an associate professor in the Faculty of Theology and the Sciences of Religions at the University of Montreal, as well as senior adviser at the International Dialogue Centre in Vienna, Austria, and has over 30 years of experience in interreligious and intercultural dialogue. Brodeur previously held the Canada Research Chair on Islam, Pluralism, and Globalization at the University of Montreal, where he led an interdisciplinary research team in studying Muslim involvement in intra- and interreligious, as well as inter-civilizational and inter-worldview, forms of dialogue. He also led the creation of a Research Department at the International Dialogue Centre (2013-2015). He was a participant in the International Higher Education Interfaith Leadership Forum. Brodeur holds a B.A. in religious studies and an M.A. in Islamic studies, both from McGill University, as well as a second master’s degree in comparative religion and a Ph.D. in Islam and Judaism from Harvard University.
