Dr. Patricia Faison Hewlin is an assistant professor in McGill University's Desautels Faculty of Management. From 2003 to 2010 she was a professor of management and organizational behavior at Georgetown's McDonough School of Business; she also taught a class supported through the Berkley Center's Doyle Seminars project. Hewlin researches the ways organization members express and suppress aspects of their identities, such as their personal values and beliefs at work. She also researches organizational change, stigmatization and discrimination at the workplace. Her work is published in numerous journals, including Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management Studies, and Group and Organizational Management Journal. Her corporate background is in the financial services industry, including five years as a vice president with CitiBank. She received her B.A. from Binghamton University and her M.B.A. and Ph.D. from New York University.
