Rev. Patrick Gilger, S.J., is assistant professor in the Department of Sociology at Loyola University Chicago and a research fellow at the Georgetown University Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs. Trained in philosophy and theology in addition to sociology, he now primarily studies social theory, the sociology of religion, and secularity.
