Paul Morris is a professor of religious studies at Victoria University of Wellington where he is also the UNESCO Chair in Interreligious Understanding and Relations in New Zealand and the Pacific. He is currently the co-chair of the New Zealand Council of Christians and Jews. His areas of research include religious diversity and policy, religion and politics, and multiculturalism and religion. His current research focuses on a study of religion and governance in the Pacific, development in intercultural and interreligious dialogue, and an exploration of the options for the management of religious diversity within and between states. In 2012, Morris led the New Zealand delegation to the Regional Interfaith Asia-Pacific Dialogue in Indonesia. Morris is the author of the 2007 and 2009 National Statements on Religious Diversity in New Zealand. He was a participant in the International Higher Education Interfaith Leadership Forum.
