Paul Townsend is the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) country representative for Guatemala and Mexico, based in Guatemala City. Townsend leads a $15 million per annum program in Guatemala, largely geared towards enhancing the food security and resilience of approximately 500,000 people. In Mexico, the CRS program focuses on the critical issues of migration, conflict mitigation, and rural development. Townsend has previously worked on CRS projects in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Colombia, and Zimbabwe, among others. He holds a bachelor's degree in animal sciences and master's degree in international agriculture and rural development from Cornell University.
