Wilhelmus "Pim" Valkenberg specializes in the study of Islam and the dialogue among Abrahamic religions. Born in the Netherlands, he studied theology and religious studies at the University of Utrecht, the Catholic Theological University of Utrecht, and the Catholic University of Nijmegen. Coming to the United States, he taught at Loyola University Maryland and between 2011 and 2023 was ordinary professor of religion and culture and director of the Institute for Interreligious Study and Dialogue at the Catholic University of America. Among his publications in English are Nostra Aetate: Celebrating 50 Years of the Church’s Dialogue with Jews and Muslims (2016) and A Companion to Comparative Theology (2022).
