Ramón Rixquiacche is a Mayan environmentalist and director of the environmental forestry technical unit of the municipality of Cantel in Guatemala. In that role Rixquiacche focuses on a range of environmental issues and programs. He has previously worked for Habitat for Humanity, the National Council of Protected Areas of Guatemala (Consejo Nacional de Areas Protegidas), and HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation. Rixquiacche comes from a Maya Quiche community called la Estancia in the Cantel municipality.
