Father Rodrigo Zarazaga, S.J., is the founder of Protagonizar, a microfinance lender in the lower class community of San Miguel, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Father Zaragoza launched Protagonizar in an effort to help local residents who had been severely impacted by a financial crisis in 2000 find financial success. Prior to his founding Protagonizar, Zarazaga studied philosophy at the University of Buenos Aires, after which he spent seven years studying theology at Colegio Maximo. He later worked at a nongovernmental organization in Colombia and was ordained as a priest in 2003. Having stepped down as the organization's president in 2013, he is now focusing on developing a think tank and master's program in public administration to educate a new generation of leaders.
