Sadio Issa Diop is the Coordinator of the Institution of Islamic Well-Being for Orphans (Institution de bienfaisance islamique pour les orphelins, IBIOS). He and his sister studied in both French and Islamic style schools in Senegal and now manage IBIOS, a center established by their parents in 1988 to support the local community. In his work, Diop aims to provide services to vulnerable mothers and children in the suburbs of Dakar by offering education (including religious) and health services. He relies on Islamic teachings to shape IBIOS’ programs.
