Sally Smith is advisor for faith based organizations in the Civil Society Partnership unit at the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS). In that role she has worked with Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, and Islamic groups. Her work also includes civil society support related to capacity building in monitoring, evaluation, and governance; social protection, care, and support; and the Joint Leaming Initiative on Children and AIDS. Smith also previously worked for UNAIDS on the Global Coalition on Women and AIDS. Prior to 1999 she spent 16 years working in Nepal on primary health care, community health, and development with the United Mission to Nepal.
