Samantha Macfarlane graduated from Georgetown's School of Foreign Service in 2016 with a major in culture and politics, focusing on minority and stigmatized identities. She spent the fall 2014 semester studying in Rabat, Morocco and the spring 2015 semester in Dakar, Senegal, where she blogged for the Junior Year Abroad Network. She love languages, exploring new cities and foods, and getting as local as possible in her experiences.
