Sami El-Yousef is the chief executive officer of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem. A native and current resident of the Old City of Jerusalem, he believes the city should symbolize a shared space for all three monotheistic religions living side by side in peace, harmony, and respect next to each other. El-Yousef previously studied in the United States, where he received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and a master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
