Sarah Cook is a senior research analyst for China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan at Freedom House. She directs the China Media Bulletin and is the author of several special reports about China, including the 2017 study, "The Battle for China's Spirit: Religious Revival, Repression, and Resistance under Xi Jinping."
