Sarah Jannarone graduated from Georgetown College in 2017 with a major in American studies and a minor in education, inquiry, and social justice. After taking a gap year with City Year, Sarah discovered her passion for social justice within the field of education. She subsequently served with the D.C. Schools Project as a tutor and coordinator to increase language access for the city’s immigrant population. This interest in language access led her to become involved with Learning Enterprises, a nonprofit that sends international volunteers to 12 different host countries in order to teach the English language, and cultivated an interest in international education specifically. Originally from Vineland, New Jersey, through the Berkley Center Sarah spent the fall 2015 semester studying at the University of Edinburgh and blogging Junior Year Abroad Network and conducted research in Maribor, Slovenia during summer 2016 through the Education and Social Justice Research Project. She hopes to study international education development after graduation.
