Mrs. Simiat Bayonle Ogundiran is the Amira (President) of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria’s (FOMWAN) Oyo State Branch. FOMWAN has offices throughout Nigeria, with each state branch running their program independently, but around a common goal. Mrs. Ogundiran is a trained educationist and a retired teacher who taught at both the primary and secondary school levels. Most of FOMWAN’s activities are directed toward humanitarian work focused on orphans, women, and the girl child. Mrs. Ogundiran is committed to the struggle for improved care for vulnerable children, orphans, and abandoned children, as well as the education of the girl child.
