Simon Alebachew Befikadu is the former president of the Addis Ababa University Student Peace Forum. The forum is the first and largest student-run initiative working to promote peace and understanding among students of diverse backgrounds in Ethiopia by employing a unique and successful project called the Sustained Dialogue. He was able to expand the mission of the initiative to encompass many more universities across the country. He was a participant in the International Higher Education Interfaith Leadership Forum.
