Stephanie Roy is the executive director of Kenjgewin Teg Educational Institute (KTEI) in M’Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island, Ontario, Canada. Roy has been serving the school in this position for over 10 years. She was also an elementary school teacher for eight years after starting in education administration. Roy serves as KTEI’s representative on the Aboriginal Institutes Consortium, an organization that works to secure resources for and support the development of member institutions. Roy continues to study the educational models of Native education to ensure that First Nation schools are fully supporting students’ needs and development.
