Stephen P. Heyneman is professor of international education policy at Vanderbilt University. Previously, he served the World Bank for 22 years in a variety of roles focused on education policy and worked as a vice president in charge of international operations for an education consulting firm in Alexandria, Virginia. He received his B.A. in political science from the University of California, Berkeley; his M.A. in African area studies from the University of California, Los Angeles; and his Ph.D. in comparative education from the University of Chicago.
