Stephen Law is a philosopher and senior lecturer at Heythrop College in the University of London. He is also the editor of the philosophical journal Think, published by the Royal Institute of Philosophy and aimed at the general public. He is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts and Commerce, and in 2008 became the Provost of the Centre for Inquiry UK. Law has published both a variety of academic papers and more popular, introductory books. His area of interest includes Wittgenstein, modality, philosophy of mind and philosophy of religion. A prolific scholar in academic papers and books, he has written many books including The Philosophy Gym (2003), The War For Children's Minds (2006), and more recently A Very Short Introduction to Humanism (2011). Law received his doctorate in Philosophy from Queen's College, Oxford.
