Susan Gallucci is a licensed clinical social worker and executive director of the Northwest Center, where she has worked since 2006. Gallucci directs the Northwest Center's maternity home, a transitional housing program for homeless pregnant women that builds upon the work of the Northwest Center's pregnancy center program in providing life-affirming options for women facing an unplanned pregnancy. Susan volunteered at the Northwest Center while an undergraduate student studying psychology at Georgetown University, followed by a year in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. After earning a master's degree in social work from the Catholic University of America Gallucci worked for Montgomery County Maryland’s Child Welfare services for six years as an assessment worker; she investigated child abuse and neglect and frequently testified as an expert witness. She is currently a member of the Dean’s Council at Catholic University’s National Catholic School of Social Service. In 2016, she was named Catholic Social Worker of the Year by the Catholic Social Workers’ National Association.
