Syeda Shagufe Hossain is a social inclusion activist, the founder and project director of
Leaping Boundaries, and chairperson of Shammo Foundation. She has worked in several sectors of development, including social and economic empowerment, youth development,
education, water, sanitation, and hygiene through organizations including BRAC and BRAC International, the
International Finance Corporation, the Bangladesh Enterprise Institute, and
WaterAid Bangladesh. Shagufe has been featured in many national newspapers for her
work with Leaping Boundaries, a unique project she founded to increase
visibility of madrasa students on mainstream platforms where they are
underrepresented. Shagufe was one of the few young entrepreneurs featured on
the Daily Star's Generation Hope Issue. She has participated in the Swedish Institute's Young
Connectors of the Future Programme as one of the five
Bangladeshis selected and was also a TEDXAIUB
speaker.
