Thierry Kevin Gatete is a human rights lawyer and activist currently serving as a senior research fellow in governance at the Institute of Policy Analysis and Research in Rwanda. Having worked for many NGOs in Rwanda and more recently for Oxfam, where he served as campaigns and policy director, Gatete is known for leading advocacy campaigns, organizing and strengthening civil society to effectively engage in policy setting. He previously studied human rights at the University of Pretoria, where he was affiliated with its Centre for Human Rights. He holds a bachelor of law degree from Kigali Independent University.
