Fr. Timothy Wright, O.S.B., was a lecturer at the University of Saint Martin until his death in 2018. He was previously the spiritual director for the Pontifical Beda College in Rome and the delegate of the Abbot Primate of the Benedictine Confederation for monastic-Muslim relations; he also taught at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois. He was the abbot of Ampleforth Abbey (part of the Order of St. Benedict) in North Yorkshire, England from 1997 to 2005. As Ampleforth's abbot, Wright spearheaded its sponsorship of Catholic-Shi’a dialogue, conducted in cooperation with the Heythrop Centre for Christianity and Inter-religious Dialogue at the University of London and the Imam Khomeini Education and Research Institute in Qom, Iran. He also authored of No Peace Without Prayer (2013).
