Vali Nasr has been dean of Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies since 2012. He studies the Middle East, Islam, and United States foreign policy. He is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations and holds a Ph.D. in political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
