Religious Pluralism in World Affairs

Leader: Thomas Banchoff

A series of three conferences during 2006 and 2007 explored the emergence of a new transnational religious landscape marked by both interreligious cooperation and conflict. The conferences brought together international scholars from the disciplines of history, law, philosophy, political science, religious studies, and sociology to address the implications for issues including religious freedom, human rights, and U.S. foreign policy. Berkley Center Director Thomas Banchoff led the project and coordinated the publication of three edited volumes expanding on the insights shared at the conferences.
