This book series, published through Duke University Press, examines African, African American, and African Caribbean traditions through their political, religious, and spiritual modes of expression. This series uses a wide range of multidisciplinary methods of analysis and includes books on subjects ranging from the religion and emotion in African cityscapes to Pentecostal black women in Africa and throughout the African diaspora. Terrence Johnson is an editor for the series, along with Jacob K. Olupona and Dianne M. Stewart.
