Creating an Inclusive Community in Northern Thailand

Through the Education and Social Justice Fellowship, a project run jointly by the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs and the Center for Social Justice Research, Teaching, and Service at Georgetown University, Allison Ross (NHS'20) spent three weeks at Xavier Learning Community (XLC) in Thailand. Throughout June and July 2019, she conducted interviews with XLC students, teachers, and staff members, and observed classes and daily life at the school. Allison’s subsequent work focused on how XLC’s educational practices and Jesuit values create unity out of diversity, building an inclusive community for individuals from different nationalities, ethnicities, and religions.
