The integration of Muslims in British society is generating a heated public debate that is echoing the broader European debate on the legitimacy of Islam in the West. Exacerbated by the Paris attacks, debates have intensified on the compatibility of Muslim religious practices with secular values as well as on the peaceful coexistence of Muslims with believers of other faiths or non-believers.

University of Birmingham Professor Francis Davis addressed the interactions between different faith communities in England and how they can contribute to more efficient social policies and improvement of civility. The Berkley Center's Jocelyne Cesari moderated.
