Human Dignity in World Affairs: Celebrating Pacem in Terris and its Legacy

Friday, April 12, 2013
2:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. EDT
Location: Healy Hall Riggs Library Map

Pope John XXIII's famous encyclical letter, Pacem in Terris (Peace on Earth), was issued during the height of the Cold War as a call to action, not just to Catholics but to "all men of good will." Fifty years later, the role of human rights and human dignity is as important as ever. This conference examined the historical origins of the document, and the impact it has had on Catholic social teaching, politics, and world affairs.

This event was sponsored by the Office of the President and co-sponsored by the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs.
