The World As It Is: A Conversation with Ben Rhodes

Thursday, April 25, 2019
6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. EDT
Location: Copley Hall Copley Formal Lounge Map

For nearly 10 years, Ben Rhodes saw almost everything that happened at the center of President Barack Obama's administration—first as a speechwriter, then as deputy national security advisor, and finally as a multipurpose aide and close collaborator. He started every morning in the Oval Office with the President’s Daily Briefing, traveled the world with Obama, and was at the center of some of the most consequential and controversial moments of the presidency. Now he tells the full story of this partnership in his book The World As It Is. Rhodes discussed some of the most poignant, tense, and consequential moments of the Obama presidency in conversation with Center Director Shaun Casey.

A reception and book signing followed the event.

This event was co-sponsored by the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs and the Walsh School of Foreign Service.
