What Do I Owe You was a year-long multimedia project seeking to understand how individuals who are enmeshed in a global economy and have daily interactions across diverse cultures and religions mold their views about what they owe each other. Through compelling video interviews filmed around the globe, the project explores new configurations of human responsibilities and connections.
Project creator and producer Lucas Stratmann (SFS'12) reflected on the lessons learned from his interviews thus far and on the possibilities and limitations of new media tools for documenting individual commitments to a global social contract. The Berkley Center's Michael Kessler and Film and Media Studies Director Bernard Cook discussed the project with Stratmann after viewing a sample of the project.
