Why the Church Needs Survivors' Stories: Part 2

Discuss and Discern

Sunrise over water.

March 24, 2022
8:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. EDT
Location: Online Zoom

In a Church that often silences the voices of abuse survivors, how can we chart a new path forward, one that centers these voices and the wisdom they offer? Awake Milwaukee invites you to participate in Courageous Conversations, an online speaker/discussion series created to build community, deepen understanding, encourage conversation, and inspire action in response to the complex issue of sexual abuse in the Catholic Church.

Following Part 1 (Listen and Learn), Part 2 (Discuss and Discern) focused on building connections and community while diving deeper into the questions raised by the conversation on March 10. Zoom breakout rooms facilitated small group discussion and sharing, encouraging all participants to bring their own perspectives and experiences to the conversation. This event was not recorded.

This event was hosted by Awake Milwaukee and co-sponsored by the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs at Georgetown University and the Archdiocese of St. Paul & Minneapolis.
