Michael Cromartie

Michael Cromartie was vice president at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, where he directed the Faith Angle Forum and the Evangelicals in Civic Life program until his death in September 2017. He was also a senior advisor to the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, senior fellow with the Trinity Forum, advisory editor for Christianity Today, and visiting lecturer at Reformed Theological Seminary. A member of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom from 2004 to 2010, Cromartie served twice as chair of the commission. He edited numerous books on religion and politics, including Religion and Politics in America (2005); Religion, Culture, and International Conflict (2005); and A Public Faith: Evangelicals and Civic Engagement (2003). He was also an advisor for the PBS documentary series With God on Our Side: The Rise of the Christian Right in America. Cromartie graduated from Covenant College and held an M.A. from American University.
