The SRE Digital Repository is part of the Strategic Religious Engagement Hub at the Georgetown University Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs.
Purpose and Scope
This searchable database provides ongoing public access to the body of evidence, tools, and resources generated by the U.S. government regarding partnership and engagement with religious actors, so that practitioners, researchers, donors, and communities can benefit from the information and continue to build on what has been learned.
The searchable repository includes documents produced by the U.S. government, such as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Department of State, as well as public institutions such as the United States Institute of Peace (USIP). The contents of the repository were originally created for public distribution and are archived by the Strategic Religious Engagement Hub for the purpose of preserving institutional memory and are not authored, published, or owned by the Strategic Religious Engagement Hub.
Copyright and Usage Status
The materials hosted in this repository fall into two primary categories:
- Federal Government Works: Resources produced directly by U.S. Government agencies and their employees as part of their official duties are generally not subject to copyright protection in the United States and reside in the public domain.
- Grant-Supported Works: Materials produced with the support of government grants (e.g., from USAID or the Department of State) are typically subject to open licenses. These licenses allow subsequent users to copy, distribute, transmit, and adapt the work, provided attribution is given in the manner specified by the original grant recipient.
