AI and the Future of Work
Monday, May 4- 6, 2026
This conference, hosted by the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, convened religious leaders, policymakers, ethicists, academics, and technology experts to examine how artificial intelligence is reshaping labor, human dignity, and social responsibility. The conference featured both public and invitation-only panels, including an off-the-record panel on "Finding the Right Work/Life/AI Balance" moderated by Berkley Center Director Thomas Banchoff.
This dialogue was co-sponsored by the Australian, British, Canadian, Japanese, Taiwan, and United States Ambassadors to the Holy See, Catholic Institute of Technology, Catholic University's Leonum Institute for AI & Emerging Tech, and Georgetown University through its Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs.
