David Evan Harris, executive director of the Global Lives Project, a volunteer-based creative collaboration focused on the cultivation of empathy across cultures, came to Georgetown to discuss the effort. The project curates an ever-expanding collection of films that faithfully captures 24 continuous hours in the life of individuals from around the world. It celebrates the diversity of human experience through the study and exploration of culture, status, ethnicity, language, and religion.

About David Evan Harris

David Evan Harris is founder and executive director of the Global Lives Project and research director at the Institute for the Future. Harris has created multimedia content ranging from newscasts for CurrentTV to articles and photos for the BBC, Guardian, Adbusters, Focus on the Global South, AlterNet, and Grist. He speaks English, Portuguese, Spanish, and French. Harris holds a B.A. in the Political Economy of Development and Environment from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.S. in Sociology from the University of São Paulo.
