The Eighth Annual UNICEF-Georgetown International Development Conference was a day of workshops, followed by a dinner that sought to raise awareness of development issues and to inspire greater activism among the student population. The conference was divided into two sections: (1) workshops led by experts in the field who discussed topics including governance, microfinance, and aid effectiveness; (2) a formal dinner where students sat with the experts to discuss the workshops and panels. Patrick Fine, vice president for the Millennium Challenge Corporation, delivered the keynote address on "Millennium Development Goals," this year's theme.

This event was sponsored by the the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs; Center for Social Justice; Department of Government; Diversity Action Council; Georgetown International Relations Association; Lecture Fund; and School of Foreign Service Academic Council.
