Carlos Vicente, the national facilitator of the Interfaith Rainforest Initiative, has over 30 years of experience in the fields of forestry research and sustainable economic development. He served as state secretary for forests and traditional populations in the State of Acre, director of the National Forestry Program at Brazil’s Ministry of Environment, technical adviser to Environmental Minister Marina Silva, and as a legislative advisor on social-environmental issues for the leadership of the Political Party Sustainability Network at the Federal Senate. A forest engineer with a degree from the Federal Rural University in Rio de Janeiro, he holds an MBA in natural resources management from the Costa Rican Institute of Business Administration.
