Christian Herwartz, S.J. is a Jesuit priest in Germany who currently works as an advocate for migrants in Berlin. Herwartz grew up in the German Democratic Republic, commonly referred to as East Germany, and joined the Society of Jesus in the 1970s. Before Germany's reunification he ministered to East German factories workers.
