Sir Christian Turner, KCMG, has served as as the British ambassador to the United States of America since February 2026. Previously, Turner was political director at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (January 2023 to September 2025), British high commissioner to Pakistan (December 2019 to January 2023), and the prime minister’s international affairs adviser and deputy national security adviser (2017 to 2019). He has held various other positions in the Foreign Office, the Cabinet Office, and 10 Downing Street.
