David Hunsicker is a conflict mitigation and peacebuilding specialist with more than two decades experience working on religious engagement internationally for the U.S. government and is a member of the Strategic Religious Engagement Hub Advisory Board, an initiative hosted by the Georgetown University Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs. He most recently served as senior conflict and peacebuilding advisor and the Middle East Team leader in the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)'s Center for Conflict and Violence Prevention, where he served as one of the primary drafters of USAID's Strategic Religious Engagement policy. Previously, he also served as the USAID Central Asian Republics' religion, state and society specialist. He has a B.A. in Islamic studies from the University of Michigan and an M.A. in Near Eastern languages and civilization from the University of Washington. He is currently an independent consultant and the founder of Ounce of Prevention - Community Preparedness LLC in Pennsylvania, which supports faith-based and community organizations in addressing their preparedness needs and mitigating vulnerability to targeted violence.
