David Lewis is Professor of Social Policy and Development and head of the Department of Social Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He has worked as a researcher, teacher, and consultant on international development issues for 20 years, specializing in development policy and management. His publications include Bangladesh: Politics, Economy and Civil Society (2011) and Anthropology, Development and the Postmodern Challenge (1996, with Katy Gardner). Lewis holds a a B.A./M.A. from the University of Cambridge and a Ph.D. from the University of Bath.
