Rev. David Udayakumar is the principal at Gurukul Lutheran Theological College in Chennai, where he teaches in the Department of Missiology. He is an ordained minister of the South Andhra Lutheran Church and was raised in the famous Hindu pilgrimage town of Tirupati in southern India. Udayakumar previously served as a pastor and was responsible for the campus ministry program of the South Andhra Lutheran Church, serving university students in Tirupati. He was also an exchange pastor in a German congregation in Lüneburg in the Church of Hannover. Udayakumar was a participant in the International Higher Education Interfaith Leadership Forum. He received his B.A. from Sri Venkateswara University in Tirupati, and he completed his bachelor of divinity and master of theology degrees at United Theological College in Bangalore. He earned his doctor of theology degree in the Department of Missiology at Senate of Serampore College.
