Archbishop Flavio Pace has served as titular archbishop of Dolia and secretary of the Vatican's Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity since February 2024. He was ordained a priest by Cardinal Carlo Maria Martini, archbishop of Milan, and served as parish vicar in Abbiategrasso from June 2002 to September 2011, engaging in youth ministry, teaching Catholic religion in secondary schools, and serving as chaplain at the hospice. Within the congregation (later dicastery) for the Eastern Churches, he served as secretariat attaché from 2011 to 2020, and in February 2020 he was appointed under-secretary. He received episcopal ordination from Archbishop Mario Delpini in May 2024 in Milan Cathedral. He obtained a certification in Islamic studies from the Pontifical Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies (PISAI) in Rome in the academic year 2009-2010. From 2011 to 2014, he attended the licentiate cycle courses at the Pontifical Oriental Institute, Liturgical Section of the Faculty of Eastern Ecclesiastical Sciences.
